Before you start
Do I need a separate account for each service?
No. One Walters Sentinel account signs you in to every service. Tick "stay signed in on this device" and you stay signed in across all of them until you sign out. You can also switch between several accounts, for example a work and a client account.
Are your certificates official?
They are Walters Sentinel certificates, based on checks we run ourselves, and each says exactly what was checked. Email and uptime certificates are re-checked every day and show when they stop passing. The self-assessment is labelled as self-assessed and is not a Cyber Essentials certificate, which only an IASME-licensed certification body can issue. Comply helps you prepare for that too.
How does the free trial work?
Each organization can try any service free for 14 days, once. You add a card when you start, and nothing is taken during the trial. We email you before it ends. If you cancel before then you are not charged; if you do nothing, your subscription carries on and the first payment is taken when the trial ends.
Do subscriptions renew automatically?
Yes. You pay monthly or yearly, and your subscription renews until you cancel. We remind you before yearly renewals and regularly for monthly ones, with the date and the amount. Payments are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise - see the Terms.
How do I cancel?
Open Billing in your account and choose Cancel. It takes one click, with no calls or forms, and we confirm it by email. You keep what you have paid for until the end of the period, and nothing you added is deleted.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, at any time from your account. Moving up is charged for the rest of the current period, and moving down is credited against future payments.
Do I need to be technical?
No. The setup checklist walks you through the first steps for each service, and each takes a few minutes. Where DNS records are involved, such as email protection, we show you the exact record to copy.
Can I monitor more than one website?
Yes. Monitoring is free for one website, and its paid plans cover more. You can see them and upgrade inside Monitoring.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in London, UK. See the Privacy Policy for what we store for each service and how long it is kept.
Do you store my passwords or sensitive credentials?
No. Monitoring only needs the public details of what you want watched. The one exception is monitoring a page behind a login, where the credentials you choose to give are encrypted before they're stored and never shown again.
